That field is only available in Company Managed projects. Epic Link is used in Team Managed projects and so would not display when using Bulk Change to edit Team
Sep 28, 2020. Hi Ethan, Thanks for reaching out. The hierarchy in advanced road maps unfortunately isn't maintained by a single field, it depends on the issue type. Epic -> Any issue above epic: Need to set parent link. Any issue -> Epic: Need to set epic link. Subtask -> Any issue: Need to set parent. So with that said, it sounds like you are
One thing I forgot to mention - I also use the Automation for Jira add-on to "listen" for any changes made to Epic Status from the Agile board - if any are found to be marked as "Done," the issue is automatically transitioned to a closed/done status. This takes care of the scenario in which you mark an Epic as Done in the Agile board, but

It is also possible to reorder the issues in the backlog (you can also show all the epics and filter by them when selecting "Epic Panel" in the "Epic" filter). Mike Henry Jul 15, 2020. Answer accepted. Your REST call looks correct to me, so I'd want to do some debugging on the message it's coming back with. Two tests: 1. Can you create the issue over REST without the Epic link field? (i.e. same code, but don't put in the line that sets cf_10003) 2. Can you manually create the issue, as the user making the REST call, in the UI Then in the Epic Link field, find the Epic you want to move them to. Since they are all in the same project, that should be a problem. you can do this by bulk option . in issue search search issues with that epic name and click on tools and choose the issues and click on edit there you will see an option to change the epic name. Once all subtasks had been converted into tasks, enter the task that you'd like to convert into an epic and click on More > Move. Leave the project unchanged and just change the type from task to epic. Finally, associate the tasks with the epic. Kelly Johnson Jul 30, 2017. Obviouslly you can manually, painstakingly do all these things. Jul 15, 2021. No, there is no functionality in Jira for creating new layers of heirarchies. You should indeed be looking at Advanced Roadmaps (Portfolio) for this, but there are alternatives such as BigPicture, EasyAgile and so-on. If you really explicitly want to do this as an issue type, take a look at Structure though, that does let you All I was thinking is other issue type's name can be changed by directly clicking on it like the below picture, but I couldn't do it for Epic's name. Thanks a lot. Go to Backlog and then click on the "EPIC" tab on the left side of the backlog. This only works, however, if you have configured your board to have the epics panel on. You and your team can use the printed cards on a physical board, which can be a replication of your board on Jira Software. You can print a single issue card or multiple issue cards, if you want. You can also print all issue cards in your current board. The printed issue cards include the following issue details: Summary. Issue type. Issue key 3. The newly converted Story will disappear from the story map as it is not currently linked to an Epic. You can re-add it to the story map by clicking the "Add Existing Issue" link under the Epic you wish to link it to. 4. In order to delete an Epic you must enter the Epic's settings page and select the delete option. I need assistance with the following Jira Software Next Gen coupled with Automation for Jira problem. Thanks. I'm attempting to complete the Epic Link while creating a new issue via the Create issue action (Option 1). Upon doing so, I'm getting the following error: Unknown fields set during create, they may be unavailable for the project/type.
Jira smart values - issues. Smart values allow you to access issue data within Jira. For example, you can use the following smart values to send a Slack message that includes the issue key and issue summary: { {issue.key}} { {issue.summary}} Check out how we use smart values in our Jira automation template library.
Save and add the Custom Field to your Issue Type. Write a Filter that returns all the Issues you want this set for and Perform a Bulk Update of these Tickets and set them to "N/A" or whatever value you chose from step 1. Upon Bulk completion this field will now have a value and be visible on all Tickets changed in 4. Done. zV3il.
